EnCon Police Investigation -- Amston Lake, Hebron

On Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, at about 3:45 p.m., Connecticut State Police Troop K notified the Department of Energy & Environmental Protection Emergency Dispatch Center of a boating accident involving an unknown number of people in a canoe on Amston Lake in Hebron.

Hebron, Lebanon and Columbia fire departments and EMS personnel, along with state police and Connecticut Environmental Conservation Police responded to the scene. Three individuals were rescued from the water. A 19-year-old female was transported by LifeStar helicopter to Hartford Hospital where she remains in intensive care. A 19-year-old male and another 19-year-old female were transported to Middlesex Clinic in Marlborough for evaluation. All three individuals are students at Wesleyan University. The incident remains under investigation by Environmental Conservation Police.
