Heating, Cooling & Sheet Metal, Hearth Product and Fuel Gas Work Journeyperson - Equivalent Out of State License

Review the scope of work for available license types: Heating, Piping and CoolingSheet Metal Work; or Hearth Product Work to determine what best covers the license you would like to apply for.

An equivalent out of state license is one that required the same number of classroom hours, equivalent classroom curriculum, and on job training hours as the license type you are applying for.

Example:  For your out of state license to be equivalent to the Connecticut S-2 license, your out of state license must have required 576 classroom hours and 8,000 hours of the job training to obtain.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Classroom hours must be equivalent to classes listed in EXHIBIT A – REQUIRED COURSES FOR HEATING, COOLING, SHEET METAL, HEARTH PRODUCTS AND FUEL GAS LICENSE TYPES

If you meet the equivalent out of state license requirement, choose ONE OUT OF STATE LICENSE ONLY and submit the following documents:

          - Copy of the license

          - License verification

          - Laws and regulations that include the requirements met for you to obtain this license

          - Scope of work for this license

         

DO NOT SUBMIT DOCUMENTS FOR MORE THAN ONE OUT OF STATE LICENSE.  ONLY ONE LICENSE WILL BE REVEIWED FOR EQUIVALENCY.     

 

IF YOU CANNOT PROVE THAT YOU HOLD AN EQUIVALENT OUT OF STATE LICENSE, YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE APPROVED BASED ON THIS REQUIREMENT.
