Can my kids get access to learning experiences at summer camp?
Yes they can! Governor Lamont has announced new expansion and innovation grants that will increase access to enriched summer programs that connect children to high-quality recreational opportunities. These experiences will be especially accessible to communities and children who were most impacted by the COVID pandemic.
Access to summer camps, child care centers, and other more affordable summer programs will be expanded so that more children will be able to attend camps and enjoy the experience, as well as offer solutions to parents returning to the workplace as the state reopens.
500 higher education students have been recruited to work in the enrichment programs. Successful applicants are trained in a variety of key areas, including social-emotional health, equity, diversity, and academic training to support the children attending the programs.
