Module 1: Program Introduction & Overview

Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this module, participants will be able to:

·   Describe the requirements of the Train-the-Trainer Certificate Program.

·   Discuss the foundation competencies, areas of expertise, and four roles for workplace learning and performance professionals based upon the American Society for Training and Development’s (ASTD) 2004 Competency Model.

·   Discuss the value of the model relative to human resource management systems.

·   Assess their “development IQ” in the ASTD areas of expertise, competencies related to training and development by completing a questionnaire and create an action plan for self-improvement based upon the results.
