D&M Staff Report: Norwalk Substation - GIS Building Color
Docket No. 217
Connecticut Light Power Company
Development and Management Plan
Norwalk Substation 345-kV Expansion
October 7, 2004
On September 16, 2004, Connecticut Light Power Company (CL&P) submitted elevation drawings and color of the Norwalk Substation 345-kV GIS building pursuant to a Connecticut Siting Council (Council) condition in approving the D&M Plan for the Norwalk Substation on October 29, 2003.
CL&P consulted and received approval from the Norwalk Planning Committee for the color "seal brown" and the architectural feature of the GIS building. This color will closely match other smaller buildings (Roman bronze) supplied by a different vendor than that of the GIS building. These darker colors were judged to blend in well to its surroundings during the four seasons.
CL&P has complied with the Council’s order in this matter and Council staff recommends approval of the elevation drawings and color of the Norwalk Substation 345-kV GIS building.
