Camp Quinebaug Thanks You

Group of People
We want to thank you all for the support and assistance you have given Camp Q and staff this summer.  We had another record breaking year with 119 campers and 103 staff.  Everyone went above and beyond: our nurses, case managers, speech pathologists, payroll, office assistants, secretaries who assisted with registration, entering all the data for campers and staff and vehicle inspections.  Also thanks to the Business Office for approving and ordering supplies, the Maintenance Department for putting the mini picnic tables together, fixing everything, and keeping us all safe.  Our Commissioner, Human Resources, Administrators, and Managers deserve our gratitude for pushing to get our staff hired- that was stressful but you pulled it off thank goodness!  Thank you also to Self Determination, Physical Therapists, the IT Department and our Training Department for shifting and working with the chaos to get all our staff trained, the Horticulture Program for the amazing horticulture activities for the campers.
Reading at Camp QThanks to The Friends of Camp Q for volunteering their time running events to fund our counselor positions and the music therapy program.  Killingly School district kindly provided food for all the campers that needed lunch, thanks to Plainfield School District for providing the Discovery bus, Danielson Surplus for donating shirts to tie dye, the Spirit Committee for donating the  popcorn machine and gift cards for the wonderful counselor planned activities, Putnam Bank for donating supplies and renting the dunk tank for us because we know the kids love dunking their counselors!   And of course our amazing camp staff worked from theirs hearts to provide a safe and happy environment for everyone at camp.  The staff even volunteered their time for a night at the 99 Restaurant and put together raffle baskets with their groups for Dining for a Cause which raised funds!  The shirt sales and the golf tournament that The Friends of Camp Q ran was also very successful with over 30 foursomes.

It takes many, many hands to get our camp up and running; we are beyond appreciative for all that you have done.  It was a very successful season thanks to one and all!!
