• Connecticut Files Lawsuit against EPA to Require Action on Petition to Reduce Emissions from Pennsylvania Coal Plant

  Connecticut has filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court, District of Connecticut against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for failure to take timely action on a petition from Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) asking the EPA to take action to stop pollution from a Pennsylvania coal-fired power plant from blowing our way.

• Connecticut Joins Multistate Settlement Resolving Environmental Claims against Volkswagen for Emissions Fraud

  Connecticut will receive $14,846,465 through a multistate settlement with auto-maker Volkswagen that resolves state claims that the company violated environmental laws when it equipped certain diesel vehicles with illegal and undisclosed emissions defeat devices designed to circumvent emissions standards, Attorney General George Jepsen said today.

• Connecticut Leads $3.5M Multistate Settlement with Lenovo over Installation of Hacker-vulnerable Software on Laptop Computers

  Connecticut has joined with 31 other states in a settlement with technology company Lenovo (United States) Inc. to resolve allegations that the company violated state consumer protection laws by pre-installing faulty software on laptop computers sold to Connecticut consumers that made consumers' personal information vulnerable to hackers, Attorney General George Jepsen and state Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) Commissioner Michelle H. Seagull said today.

• State Files False Claims Act Lawsuit against Fairfield Dentist

  Attorney General George Jepsen and state Department of Social Services (DSS) Commissioner Roderick L. Bremby today announced that the state has filed a False Claims Act lawsuit against a Fairfield dentist alleging that he engaged in a long-term, pervasive scheme to defraud the state's Medicaid program.

• State-Federal Settlement Reached with Home Health Agency and its Owners to Resolve False Claims Act Allegations

  A Stratford-based home health agency and its owners have reached a $5.25 million settlement with the state of Connecticut and the federal government to resolve allegations that the company submitted false claims to Connecticut's Medicaid program, Attorney General George Jepsen said today. The settlement stems from a three-year investigation led by the Office of the Connecticut Attorney General after an audit by the Department of Social Services.

• State Initiates False Claims Act Lawsuit against Fairfield County Doctor, Husband over Alleged Compound Drug Prescribing Scheme

  The state has initiated a lawsuit in Hartford Superior Court under the Connecticut False Claims Act alleging that a Fairfield County doctor and her husband, a University of Connecticut employee, engaged in a scheme designed to prescribe expensive medically unnecessary compounded medications to state employees enrolled in the state employee pharmacy benefit plan at a high cost to the state and its taxpayers, Attorney General George Jepsen said today.

• State Initiates False Claims Act Lawsuit against Norwalk Family Practitioner over Medicaid Fraud Allegations

  The state has initiated a False Claims Act lawsuit alleging that a Norwalk-based family practitioner engaged in a pervasive and illegal scheme to defraud Connecticut's Medicaid program by submitting false claims for services never provided, Attorney General George Jepsen and state Department of Social Services Commissioner Roderick L. Bremby said today.
