There is Still Time to Register for Tuesday's Primary Election

The Deadline to Register in Person at Town Halls is Monday August 10 at 12:00pm

HARTFORD – With Primary Election Day on August 11th fast approaching, please note that the deadline to register in a party in time to vote in this year’s primary is also approaching.

The deadline for new or unaffiliated voters to register in person with the local registrar of voters of their town of residence is noon on Monday August 10th, the day before Primary Election Day.

The deadline to change parties in order to vote on August 11th in the new party, and the deadlines to register to vote by mail and online, have already passed.

Please note that there is no Election Day Registration for Primary Elections, only for General Elections.

Voters can check their registration status, find their polling place, or confirm that their absentee ballot was received by their town clerk at myvote.ct.gov/lookup. Absentee ballots must be received by the close of polls, 8:00pm on Tuesday, Election Day, so voters are encouraged to use the secure drop box that was provided to each town. All polls will be open on Primary Election Day, Tuesday Aubust 11th.
