Voters Have Until Monday, September 9th at Noon to Register for Tuesday's Primary

23 Communities will hold municipal primaries on Tuesday, September 10th

HARTFORD – Secretary of the State Denise Merrill reminded voters today that those voters eligible and who wish to register to vote in time for the primaries have until 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9th to register in person at their local Registrar of Voters office. Although it is too late to switch parties and vote in Tuesday’s primary, Unaffiliated voters can still join a major party until 12:00 p.m. on Monday if they want to vote in the primary in their city or town.

Voters can check their registration status at myvote.ct.gov/lookup and can register to vote or join a party at myvote.ct.gov/register.

Secretary Merrill said, “If your town is having a primary this Tuesday, make sure your voice is heard! If you think you are already registered to vote, or just aren’t sure, please go to myvote.ct.gov/lookup to make sure your registration is up to date.”

Polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. for municipal primaries in 23 communities on Tuesday September 10th. Voters can find their polling place at myvote.ct.gov/lookup.

There will be Democratic primaries in Bloomfield, Bridgeport, Hamden, Hartford, Middletown, New Haven, Oxford, Stratford, and West Haven.

There will be Republican primaries in Bridgeport, Brooklyn, Colchester, East Haven, Killingworth, Plainfield, Plainville, Preston, Ridgefield, Shelton, Somers, Southbury, Voluntown, and West Haven.
