SECRETARY MERRILL JOINS WETHERSFIELD HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO SELECT 34 PRECINCTS FOR AUDITS FOLLOWING NOVEMBER 7TH ELECTIONS
15 Alternate Precincts Also Selected
Hartford: Secretary of the State Denise W. Merrill today joined students from Wethersfield High School to randomly select the voting precincts which will have election results audited following the November 7, 2017 municipal elections. As required by Connecticut General Statutes 9-320f, five percent of the polling places in the election using optical scan voting machines are subject to an audit. 677 precincts used optical scan voting machines on November 7, and 34 precincts were chosen to have their results audited. Precincts which are already part of a recount are exempt from audits by statute. In addition to the 34 precincts that were chosen for an audit, 15 alternate precincts were also chosen.
