What to Know What to Do

Never send or wire money to anyone you meet online to cover claims of:
  • Travel
  • Medical emergencies
  • Hotel bills
  • Hospital bills for a child or other relative
  • Visas or other official documents
  • Losses from a “temporary financial setback.”
  • A robbery or mugging.
Never send expensive items to anyone you know only from the internet, especially at their request. Never make an online purchase for anyone, or forward a package to another country for them.
