Teacher of the Year Ceremony
Due to inclement weather, the Teacher of the Year Ceremony has been postponed to December 16, 2025 from 5-7pm. Doors will open at 4pm. The Ceremony will take place at the Bushnell Theater in Hartford, and the order of events will remain the same.

Smarter Balanced Assessment System: Connecting the Claims to Classroom Instruction

The Smarter Balanced Claims are derived from the Common Core State Standards and represent reporting categories for the summative and interim assessments. This presentation will engage you in activities to better understand what students need to know and be able to do to demonstrate mastery of the standards. Through this exploration, teachers will also understand how classroom instruction can support student learning.
