Literacy Leadership Systems

Student achievement improves when highly trained and effective literacy leaders commit to instructional priorities, supportive system structures, effective monitoring of implementation, and open communication with all stakeholders.

An effective literacy leadership team includes a variety of stakeholders. At the district level, administrators representing different areas of focus join together with the common goal of raising student literacy achievement. At the school-based level, administrators join with faculty representing a variety of roles and perspectives. Below is an example of the school community members who comprise the literacy leadership teams, but note that this list is not limited to these professionals.
