CT Abortion Rights

Transportation Resources

If you live in Connecticut and need help getting to an appointment, these organizations can help:

  • Medicaid’s Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) helps HUSKY Health and other Medicaid members get to Medicaid-covered services. If you don’t have transportation to get to and from abortion services, you can request a ride through NEMT.
  • National Network of Abortion Funds can connect you to local organizations that bring people to appointments.
  • The Brigid Alliance is a referral-based service that provides travel, food, lodging, child care, and other logistical support for people seeking abortions.

Coming to Connecticut From Another State

In May, Governor Lamont signed Public Act 22-19, that provides some important protections for people seeking abortion care in Connecticut. If you are from a state that has imposed criminal or civil penalties for obtaining an abortion, you may wish to consult with a lawyer about potential consequences for seeking abortion care in Connecticut.

Check your insurance policy to see if it covers abortion services outside of your state. The National Network of Abortion Funds may be able to help you.
