Office of the Victim Advocate (OVA) Mission Statement

Read time: 6 minutes

OVA works to make sure crime victims are included and respected in Connecticut’s criminal justice system. We do this through:

  • Investigation when crime victim rights are violated
  • Public education about crime victims’ rights
  • Collaboration with law enforcement and service providers
  • Advocacy within the courts and legislative system

Our goal is to ensure that crime victims’ voices are valued across the state.

OVA was established in 1998.
