William Myers

William Myers (Bill) is a retired music teacher. He holds Degrees from UConn and Yale Universities. For 35 years Bill taught music for Grades K-5, 9-12, and College Music Majors. Bill was chosen as Teacher of the Year for Windham HS, Teacher of the Year for the Town of South Windsor and is the recipient of CEA’s 2025 Retired Teacher for Excellence in Education Advocacy Award. On the IAC Bill is honored to represent all of CT’s Public School Teachers, active and retired alike. Bill served as the Treasurer of his local Union and was the Treasurer for 3 separate Town Referendum resulting in the building of 4 new Elementary Schools in South Windsor. He currently serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Teachers Retirement Board and has chaired many subcommittees involving Teacher Pensions and Healthcare.
