Nonprofit Grant Program:  There is currently no active solicitation for this grant program.  Round 8 is closed and no longer accepting applications.  There is no set date to release the next round of NGP funds, however, we suggest checking the OPM/NGP Announcements webpage, as well as the state’s procurement portal, CTsource Bid Board, during Fall 2026.  All eligibility criteria will be specified in the RFA when announced.

                            Nonprofit Grant Program                                                                                                                                              Eligible Applicants          

Eligible applicants are private, nonprofit health and human service organizations that are exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, and that receive funds from the State, including Medicaid, to provide direct health or human services to State of Connecticut agency clients.

Program Priorities and Eligible Projects

The NGP is for capital projects or items that achieve or address at least one of the two following priorities:

a. Improving or enhancing the efficiency or effectiveness of nonprofit providers delivering health and human services.

b. Addressing need for health, safety and ADA improvements of nonprofit providers delivering health and human services.

How to Apply

Request for Application (RFA) Guidelines and Instructions:

  • Round 8 of the Nonprofit Grant Program is closed and no longer accepting applications at this time.  RFA released 8/23/2023.  RFA closed 10/18/2023.

Requirements for Nonprofit Organizations

The following documentation shall be obtained as part of the Request for Application (RFA).  Specific details will be outlined in the RFA guidelines and instructions when announced.  

  1. Letter from the U.S. IRS verifying valid & current IRS 501(c) (3) status
  2. Certificate of Legal Existence with the Connecticut Secretary of the State
  3. Charitable Organization Registration with CT Department of Consumer Protection, unless exempted by Connecticut General Statutes § 21a-190d
  4. Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax Form 990 with IRS
  5. Additional documents as outlined in the RFA guidelines and instructions
