Lt. Governor Bysiewicz Urges Women to Choose Careers in the Connecticut State Police
As the deadline to apply for the Connecticut State Police approaches, Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz and the state’s public safety leaders, including Colonel Stavros Mellekas, Deputy Commissioner Regina Rush-Kittle, and State Senator Dennis Bradley, gathered at the Connecticut Police Academy in Meriden to urge women across the state to choose careers in state police.

Governor Bysiewicz joined State Veterans Affairs Commissioner Thomas Saadi, statewide veteran leaders and Hmong General Sar Phouthasack at the Middletown Military Museum in Middletown today for the signing of a policy by Commissioner Saadi—the first of its kind at a state level in the nation—providing burial rights for the Hmong and Laotian Special Guerrilla Unit Veterans residing in Connecticut who operated in support of the United States military, during the War in Vietnam.
