Gov. Malloy & Congressional Delegation Announce Federal Grants to Upgrade State’s Unemployment Computer System, Continue Fraud Prevention Program
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and the members of Connecticut's Congressional delegation today announced that the Connecticut Department of Labor (CTDOL) has been awarded over $2.6 million in grants from the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) - $2.1 million of which will be used to replace its outdated unemployment insurance computer system, while the remainder will be used to continue a successful fraud prevention partnership program.

Gov. Malloy Announces New Capital Dollars to Expand CTfastrak into East Hartford and Manchester
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State Bond Commission next week is scheduled to vote on a $7 million allocation that will allow the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) to purchase buses and other capital equipment necessary to expand CTfastrak east of the Connecticut River into East Hartford and Manchester.

Gov. Malloy Urges U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to Adopt Draft Dredging Plan, Continue Operation of Open Water Sites
Governor Dannel P. Malloy is urging the United States Army Corps of Engineers to promptly adopt a draft dredging plan and environmental impact statement for Long Island Sound, arguing that without the continued availability of the four currently operated water disposal sites in Long Island Sound, Connecticut's maritime industry will suffer irreparable damage.

Gov. Malloy Announces ‘Q Bridge’ Project, the Biggest in CTDOT History, Completed Ahead of Schedule
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the southbound side of the new Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge on I-95 in New Haven - informally known as the Q Bridge - is scheduled to open approximately eight months ahead of schedule. Construction of the main span bridge was completed in July 2015 on schedule and on budget. Four lanes of the new southbound bridge are scheduled to open to vehicles the week of September 28, providing much needed relief for tens of thousands of residents who face congestion in the corridor and enhancing the region's overall economic competitiveness.

Gov. Malloy & Conn. Delegation: Connecticut Awarded Grant to Advance Economic Development Plans Across the Hartford Rail Line Corridor
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and the members of Connecticut's Congressional delegation today announced that the State of Connecticut has been awarded $700,000 grant from the Federal Transit Administration to conduct a study of transit-oriented development (TOD) opportunities in the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield rail corridor, also known as the Hartford Line. The federal funding will be matched by $200,000 in state funds.
