Gov. Malloy: Flags Lowered to Half-Staff in Honor of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that - in accordance with a proclamation from President Barack Obama directing flags to be lowered to half-staff in honor of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia - U.S. and state flags in Connecticut will fly at half-staff beginning immediately until sunset on the day of interment.

Gov. Malloy Selects Dr. Raul Pino to Serve as Commissioner of Public Health
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he is appointing Dr. Raul Pino to serve as Commissioner of the Department of Public Health (DPH). Dr. Pino has been serving in the role of Acting Commissioner since December, and prior, served as Deputy Commissioner of the agency.

Gov. Malloy Advises Residents: Bitter Cold Weather to Impact the State Over Next Several Days
Governor Dannel P. Malloy is urging Connecticut residents to prepare for bitter cold temperatures over the next several days, with current forecasts for this weekend projecting a low of -5 to -10 degrees F. Sustained winds of 15 MPH, with gusts to 30-35 MPH, are expected. This could create a wind chill of -25 to -35 at times.

Gov. Malloy Applauds Planned Conversion of Connecticut's Last Remaining Coal Burning Power Plant
Governor Dannel P. Malloy is applauding the announcement made this morning by Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) that the company will be converting its coal-burning power plant at Bridgeport's Harbor Station to natural gas. With the planned conversion, Connecticut will no longer have any coal burning plants in the state.

Gov. Malloy Announces State Grants to Assist Fifteen Small Towns with Capital Improvement Projects
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that fifteen towns throughout Connecticut have been approved to receive funding under the state's Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP), which assists smaller communities with infrastructure and capital improvement projects. The grants announced today are the first of several rounds anticipated to be announced during this year.
