BENEFITSCHECKUP.ORG The National Council on the Aging created BenefitsCheckUp to help older adults to quickly identify programs that may improve the quality of their lives. MEDICAREADVOCACY.ORG Center for Medicare Advocacy -The Center for Medicare Advocacy, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization which provides education, advocacy, and legal assistance to help elders and people with disabilities obtain necessary healthcare. We focus on the needs of Medicare beneficiaries, people with chronic conditions, and those in need of long-term care. CTSTATELIBRARY.ORG CT State Library for the Blind and Disabled - The Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped is a network library of the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped of Congress. The Library provides free mail loan of recorded and Braille books and magazines and necessary playback equipment to eligible state residents unable to read conventional print because of a visual or physical disability.

CTCADV.ORG CT Coalition Against Domestic Violence - is a membership organization whose purpose is to work together to end domestic violence by advocating for victims and changing the social conditions, beliefs, and social actions that perpetuate abuse against victims of domestic violence. CCADV is a statewide network of community-based programs providing shelter, support, and advocacy to victims of domestic violence. CCADV provides program coordination and skills training to assist member programs to develop, enhance, and improve their programs, policies and services.

GHLA.ORG Greater Hartford Legal Services - Greater Hartford Legal Assistance is a not-for-profit law firm whose staff helps clients with civil (not criminal) legal issues. They are advocates — primarily lawyers and paralegals — who know how to serve people who have little money.

DISRIGHTSCT.ORG Disability Rights Connecticut (DRCT): In addition to conducting investigations, educating policy makers, and challenging discriminatory barriers in court, we can help individuals with disabilities understand and exercise their rights. When you contact DRCT, you will be given information about disability rights, referred to experts and resources, empowered in your advocacy efforts and provided representation consistent with DRCT’s mandates, priorities and resources.
