Announces
2004 HIGH SCHOOL ESSAY CONTEST
     RULES: Essays must be typed and double-spaced, be at least 250 words but no more than 600 and post marked or emailed no later than April 1, 2004.

     Essays should be mailed to the Connecticut Foundation for Open Government, c/o The Lakeville Journal, PO Box 1688, Lakeville, CT  06039 or emailed to publisher@lakevillejournal.com.
Winners will be announced by May 14, 2004.
Choose one of the following questions to answer:
1. On the 5 protections in the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which one is most important to you and why?
2. Some say the U.S.A. Patriot Act impinges on civil rights.  What is your view and why?
First Prize: $1000
Second Prize: $500 Third Prize: $300
Honorable Mentions: $50
The essays may include exhibits but they are not required.
