     The above-captioned matter was scheduled to be heard as a contested case on October 16, 2013, at which time the complainants and the respondents appeared.  However, pursuant to an agreement reached between the parties, the hearing was continued to permit further discussions which were intended to lead to a settlement of the complaint in this matter.
     For purposes of the hearing, this matter was consolidated with Docket #FIC 2014-057; Edward Peruta and American News and Information Services Inc. v. Dora Schriro, Commissioner, State of Connecticut, Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection; and State of Connecticut, Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection; Docket #FIC 2014-060; Edward Peruta and American News and Information Services Inc. v. Dora Schriro, Commissioner, State of Connecticut, Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection; and State of Connecticut, Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection; Docket #FIC 2014-063; Edward Peruta and American News and Information Services Inc. v. Dora Schriro, Commissioner, State of Connecticut, Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection; and State of Connecticut, Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection.
     Thereafter, by letter dated October 31, 2014, the complainant indicated that he wished to withdraw the complaint in this matter. The Commission takes administrative notice of the complainant’s October 31, 2014 letter of withdrawal.

     The following order by the Commission is hereby recommended on the basis of the record concerning the above-captioned complaint:
     1. The complaint is hereby dismissed.  The parties are commended for reaching an amicable resolution to the complaint in this matter.
