Prevention Service Initiative Awards for Healthcare Organizations RFP - Due by October 10, 2018
Through this competitive procurement, the State of Connecticut is making available awards to healthcare organizations who are currently participating in the Prevention Service Initiative (PSI). The total pool of funding for this RFP is $1,000,000. The Prevention Service Initiative awards will enable participating Advanced Networks and FQHCs, hereafter referred to as “healthcare organizations,” to enter into financial contractual arrangements with community based organizations (CBOs) participating in the PSI. The Office of Health Strategy (OHS) seeks subject matter experts to support the State Innovation Model (SIM) initiative. The subject matter experts will provide consultation on an as-needed basis, primarily in support of the Community & Clinical Integration Program (CCIP), however, consultation may be requested for other OHS initiatives as-needed. CCIP is comprised of evidence-based care delivery standards that participating Advanced Networks and Federally Qualified Health Centers receive support to achieve. CCIP promotes care delivery transformation across accountable physician networks to deliver better care that results in better health outcomes at lower costs for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plan enrollees. Payment Parity and Behavioral Health Coverage by Private Insurers Study RFP
The Office of Health Strategy is seeking a contractor to: 1. Study the rates at which health carriers delivering, issuing for delivery, renewing, amending or continuing individual and group health insurance policies in the state, and third-party administrators licensed under section 38a-720a of the general statutes, reimburse health care providers for covered physical, mental and behavioral health benefits. 2. Study to determine whether payment parity exists between (1) providers of behavioral and mental health services and providers of other medical services in the private insurance market, (2) such providers within the HUSKY Health program, and (3) HUSKY Health program behavioral and mental health providers and their counterparts in the private insurance market.

Application Period Open for Consumer Advocate Representatives
Office of Health Strategy is now accepting applications for consumer representatives on the Consumer Advisory Board. We are seeking consumers and advocates who are experienced in dealing with health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, asthma, arthritis, mental illness, or drug and alcohol abuse. We need a diverse and balanced mix of participants, and will consider life experience, individual circumstances, source of coverage, race/ethnicity, and health conditions. Candidates should be comfortable sharing views; have good problem-solving skills and be willing to work with others. Most of all, serving as a consumer representative provides an opportunity to learn about healthcare in Connecticut, to advocate for change, and to be the voice of the consumer. Applications are due by November 28, 2018.

Office of Health Strategy State Innovation Model is accepting applications for a Community Action Movement Representative to serve on the Population Health Council. We seek members of the Community Action Movement in Connecticut with wide representation across the state operating programs and policy oriented activities that impact the health and wellbeing of all residents. We look for a diverse and balanced mix of applicants, and will consider experience, scope of work, purpose of application, and race or ethnicity of candidates. Applicants should be comfortable sharing views, have good problem-solving skills, and be willing to work with others. Serving as a CT SIM Population Health Council member provides the opportunity to learn about health care in Connecticut, to advocate for change, and to effectively influence policy making. Applications are due by January 11, 2019.

Application Period Open for Community Health Worker Advisory Body Representatives
The Connecticut Office of Health Strategy is now accepting applications for Community Health Worker Advisory Body Representatives. We seek community health workers (CHWs) and CHW affiliates who are experienced in community health and engaged in serving populations in Connecticut. As outlined in Public Act 19-177, Section 160, we are seeking a diverse and balanced mix of participants and will consider life experience, individual circumstances, residential and employment geography, communities served, and race/ethnicity. Participants should have good synthesis abilities; be comfortable asserting views, and have creative problem-solving abilities; authority or ability to influence; understanding of underserved populations; commitment to shared aspirations to advance the CHW workforce. Applications are due by October 4th.
