Health Information Technology Advisory Council

Overview

Following the passage of Public Act 16-77, and later 17-2, the State of Connecticut designated the role of Health Information Technology Officer (HITO) and outlined more concrete guidelines and directives pertaining to Health Information Technology and Health Information Exchange for the state.

As part of these legislative guidelines, the Health IT Advisory Council (HITAC) was established to advise the executive director of the Office of Health Strategy and the HITO in developing priorities and policy recommendations for advancing the state's health information technology and health information exchange efforts and goals and to advise in the development and implementation of the state-wide health information technology plan and the state-wide Health Information Exchange (Connie). The HITAC also advises the executive director and officer regarding the development of appropriate governance, oversight and accountability measures to ensure success in achieving the state's health information technology and exchange goals. On this page, you will find information pertaining to key activities of the HITAC.

The HITAC convenes every third Thursday of the month from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Meetings are held virtually in accordance with Public Act 22-3. The 2024 meeting schedule can be found here
