Health IT Advisory Council
Overview
Following the passage of Public Act 16-77, and later 17-2, the State of Connecticut designated the role of Health Information Technology Officer (HITO) and outlined more concrete guidelines and directives pertaining to Health Information Technology and Health Information Exchange for the state.
As part of these legislative guidelines, the Health IT Advisory Council was established to advise the HITO and coordinate health IT activities for health reform initiatives in Connecticut. On this page, you'll find information pertaining to the Council's activities, including the work of several design groups working underneath the Council. Design groups are composed of both Advisory Council members and their designee's, and work to answer a specific question guided by a charter. The design groups present their findings to the Advisory Council, and their recommendations are also provided on this page.
The Health IT Advisory Council convenes every third Thursday of the month from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Meetings are held virtually in accordance with Public Act 22-3. The 2023 meeting schedule can be found here.
