In order to provide accurate and up-to-date Zika test results to the media and public, the Connecticut Department of Public Health has created a webpage, titled Zika Virus Statistics, which will provide statistics related to Connecticut’s Zika testing efforts. This webpage will be updated every Wednesday by close of business.

The testing results can be accessed through DPH’s main Zika webpage: www.ct.gov/zika by clicking on the "Zika Virus Statistics" button at the bottom of the page. The testing results can also be accessed directly by following this link: Click here for Zika Virus Statistics page.

The webpage will list the total number of patients with final results, number of pregnant patients with final results, number of patients who test positive for Zika virus, and number of pregnant patients with a positive Zika test.

In addition, the number of patients with a positive test result for Flavivirus and the number of pregnant patients with a positive Flavivirus test will also be listed. Flaviviruses include Dengue, Chikungunya and Zika. Patients who test positive for a Flavivirus could have been exposed to Zika, but the test results were unable to distinguish between Zika and the other Flaviviruses. In keeping with the CDC’s guidance, DPH will also be tracking patients who test positive for Flavivirus, and pregnant patients who test positive will be monitored using the same protocols as Zika-positive pregnant patients.

Finally, the webpage will track the countries visited by those patients who test positive for either Zika or Flavivirus.

As of May 24, 2016, Connecticut has reported seven patients who tested positive for Zika virus. The latest positive result was from a non-pregnant female who had recently returned from Puerto Rico. All seven patients have since recovered.
