The Physics of Highway Safety
Sometimes physics can be tough for students of any age to grasp, but with the right demonstration, this “invisible science” can be made clear.  Through the TRAC PAC 2 Highway Safety module illustrates the physics involved in traffic crashes.  Students will be exposed to traffic engineering concepts such as congestion and traffic volume and sight distance in relation to safe speed.
The Highway Safety module puts students on the road to physics success with engaging activities:
  • The basic methods of identifying problems, determining the reliability and validity of data, and choosing the most effective solution are reviewed.
