About the Unit 

The Sustainability and Resiliency Unit develops actionable plans to increase the sustainability of DOT’s integrated multimodal transportation system.  Our team works with all parts of DOT to increase energy efficiency, reduce the carbon footprint of transportation, reduce waste and reduce the cost of government operations. The Unit is also responsible for the development and implementation of adaptation strategies to ensure DOT is prepared for the impacts of climate change on the State’s transportation infrastructure.

National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program

Provides funding to States to strategically deploy electric vehicle charging infrastructure and to establish an interconnected network to facilitate data collection, access, and reliability. Connecticut expects to receive $7.7 million this fiscal year (2022) in formula funding and expects up to $52.5 million through FY 2026 for EV infrastructure.

Carbon Reduction Program (CRP)

Provides funding to States to reduce transportation emissions through the development of State carbon reduction strategies (CRS) and by funding projects designed to reduce transportation emissions. Connecticut expects to receive up to $79.1 million through fiscal year 2026 to implement carbon reduction projects.
