The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct a virtual public information meeting concerning the Rehabilitation of Bridge Nos. 00058 and 03563 carrying I-95 and TR803 over Crescent Street and Metro North Railroad on March 7, 2024, at 7:00 p.m.

The virtual public information meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project. The meeting will take place on Zoom, and registration is required. A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation, which will be recorded. “This project will correct structural deficiencies of the existing structural steel and will patch the existing reinforced concrete deck”, said Francisco Fadul. “We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design.”

The purpose of the project is to rehabilitate Bridge Nos. 00058 and 03563, which carry I-95 and TR803 (Exit 14 to Northbound Route 7). The rehabilitation will address concrete substructure deterioration, patch the existing reinforced concrete deck, and repair/strengthen structural steel. The Maintenance and Protection of Traffic and Construction Sequencing include overnight closure of lanes and shoulders, and overnight closure with a detour for work on the on ramp from West Street. Overnight closures of the pedestrian path below Span 3 and short-term closures of the sidewalk on Bridge 03563 will also be necessary.

Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project are not anticipated.

Construction is anticipated to begin in Spring 2027 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $ 15 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 100 percent State funds.
