Public Invited to Informational Meeting Regarding the Route 146 Corridor Management Plan Project in Branford and Guilford

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will hold an in-person public information meeting about the Route 146 Corridor Management Plan (CMP) on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, 6:00-7:30 p.m., at the Nathanael B. Greene Community Center, Manunkatuck Room, 32 Church Street, Guilford, CT 06437.

Parking is available in the attached parking lot. The Manunkatuck Room is located on the second floor of the Community Center. The Community Center has an elevator to access the second floor.

The public information meeting is being held to provide the community with an opportunity to learn about and provide input on potential strategies to be included in the Route 146 CMP. A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation, which will be recorded.

“As we continue our public outreach in the Branford and Guilford communities, we encourage all users of the Route 146 corridor to share their transportation experience with the CTDOT team, said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Patrick Zapatka. The CMP will balance caring for these important resources with providing a safe roadway for all travelers and respecting the desires of the community, residents, and local businesses.”

The project’s aim is to develop a Corridor Management Plan (CMP) for Connecticut Route 146 in Branford and Guilford. The purpose of creating a CMP is to review the Route 146 corridor mobility and plan how to protect its many historical, cultural, and environmental resources, as well as managing the roadway infrastructure to ensure the corridor is more resilient to climate risks such as flooding.

Right-of-way impacts associated with this planning project are not anticipated.

Individuals with hearing and speech disabilities may dial 711 for Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS). Language assistance may be requested by contacting the CTDOT Language Assistance Call Line at (860) 594-2109. Requests should be made at least five business days prior to the meeting.
