The Public Information Meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project.

The purpose of the project is to bring the structure to a state of good repair. Due to the condition of the existing bridge, the bridge is proposed to be replaced. The new bridge is proposed to be located in approximately the same location with the following geometry changes: clear span increase from 11 feet to 31 feet, bridge width widening (curb-to-curb) from 29 feet 8 inches to 32 feet, partial removal of existing weir, and installation of fish ladders. These geometry changes are to address the environmental and hydraulic stream crossing requirements.

There are right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed improvements. Temporary and permanent construction easements will be required on adjacent private properties to perform the work.

Construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2024 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $4.1 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with eighty percent (80%) Federal funds and twenty percent (20%) State funds. The project is identified as State Project No. 0073-0194.

Language assistance may be requested by contacting the CTDOT Language Assistance Call Line (860) 594-2109. Requests should be made at least five business days prior to the meeting.
