Hartford Line Service Changes Effective April 3, 2023

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is alerting riders of the temporary weekday schedule changes effective April 3, 2023, through April 16, 2023, on the Hartford Line (HL) following the continuous outages on Amtrak’s Hell Gate Line in New York City to support the Penn Station Access (PSA) project. The PSA project is intended to enable Metro-North trains to use the Hell Gate Line to connect to the west side of Manhattan and into Penn Station, ultimately expanding traveling options for Connecticut passengers.

This schedule change impacts train times by up to 16 minutes and some connections may have changed. These schedule changes will not affect any station platform boarding assignments.

The final stage of Amtrak’s Rail Replacement Project is scheduled to be completed on April 16, 2023. A more routine schedule will be in effect on April 17, 2023.

Passengers can find the updated schedule here and are encouraged to visit HartfordLine.com or Amtrak.com for the latest service information. Riders can also sign up for alerts sent directly to their phone or email at HartfordLine.com/service-alerts.

While passengers are no longer required to wear masks on board trains or in stations, masks are welcome and remain an important preventive measure against COVID-19. Anyone needing or choosing to wear one is encouraged to do so.
