The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is alerting riders of the upcoming train service adjustments effective Tuesday, September 5, 2023, on the Hartford Line (HL). These service adjustments are the result of Amtrak’s construction work on Penn Station Access completing this season, the return to normal Amtrak train service from New York Penn Station to New Haven, and work on the Northeast Corridor (NEC).
This schedule change impacts train times by up to 42 minutes, and some connections may have changed. These schedule changes will not affect any station platform boarding assignments.
“It’s important riders are aware of these upcoming service adjustments after the Labor Day Holiday,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Bureau Chief of Public Transportation Benjamin Limmer. “Please always check online before you head out the door so there will be no surprises.”
HL trains with schedule adjustments of 15 minutes or more include:
Weekday
- Amtrak 490 departing New Haven Union Station at 9:42 a.m., 42 minutes later.
- Amtrak 494 departing New Haven Union Station at 7:35 p.m., 35 minutes earlier.
Weekend
- Amtrak 497 departing Springfield Station at 7:30 p.m., 15 minutes later.
