Public Information Meeting Intersection Improvements in Woodbury

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct a Virtual Public Information Meeting concerning the proposed intersection improvements at Route 6, Route 61, and Quassapaug Road in Woodbury on Thursday, March 31 at 7 p.m.

The project is identified as Proposed Project No. PP-168-003.

The purpose of this project is to reduce the occurrences of angle type injury crashes at the intersection of Route 6, Route 61 and Quassapaug Road. There are currently two proposed design alternatives: improvements to the existing stop-controlled intersection or construction of a modern roundabout.

There are potential right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed improvements, which could include partial acquisitions, as well as various easements and rights.

The proposed project is in the early stages of concept development. No funding has been identified and no schedule has been developed. The public informational meeting is being held to communicate existing conditions, discuss feasibility of proposed solutions, and receive public feedback for determining desired project outcomes.

The Virtual Public Information Meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project. Persons with limited internet access may request that project information be mailed to them by contacting Marissa L. Pfaffinger, P.E. by email at marissa.pfaffinger@ct.gov or by phone at (860) 594-3358. Please allow one week for processing and delivery.
