CTDOT Announces Modified Train Schedule Due to Winter Storm and Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday

Amtrak, CTrail Hartford Line, and Shore Line East to Operate on Modified Schedule January 16-17, 2022

(Newington, CT) – The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) announced train schedule modifications for the impending winter storm and the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday from Sunday, January 16 to Monday, January 17, 2022.

Officials are monitoring the winter storm and prepositioning crews and equipment in preparation for the snow event. Service disruptions may occur during and after the snow event, therefore customers are asked to visit CTrail.com for service updates.

As a reminder, customers should allow extra travel time, stay clear of platform edges, and use extra caution when boarding and exiting trains.

Customers should also review our schedule prior to travel as we are operating on a modified schedule for the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

Passengers are encouraged to visit hartfordline.comshorelineeast.com, and mta.info for the latest schedule information and sign up for alerts or update preferences on our alerts page.

To avoid delays, passengers are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance. Tickets can be pre-purchased at CTrail and Metro-North ticket vending machines, ticket windows, or on the CTrail and MTA eTix mobile apps.

CTDOT would like to remind customers to always wear a mask or face covering onboard trains and at stations. Customers who feel sick should not use public transportation.

Information about all rail services in Connecticut is available at CTrail.com.
