CTDOT’s “Connecticut In Motion” Webinar Examines the Impact of COVID-19 on Current Workplace Trends and Commuting

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT), through its commuter services program, CTrides, will debut the next webinar in the “Connecticut in Motion” series on Tuesday, April 12 at noon. The title of the webinar is “Getting Employees Back to the Workplace in the Topsy-Turvy World of COVID”.

Employers throughout Connecticut and elsewhere have been experiencing the ups and downs of the spread of COVID-19 over the last two years, interrupting plans to bring employees back to work. As the latest surge in the pandemic recedes, employers are now looking to fully implement plans with a growing awareness of employees’ concerns and issues about the new work environment. As these plans begin to be rolled out, different commuting practices and travel patterns are emerging that require the state to review its transit operations to ensure that services are available to support the new needs of the state’s residents. This webinar will bring together workplace and transportation experts to shed light on these developments, examine these issues and provide insight into what return to work plans will look like and the developing services to support new commuting patterns.

The webinar will be moderated by John Dankosky, Director of Events of the CT Mirror. Panelists include Richard Andreski, Bureau Chief of the Connecticut Department of Transportation, Bureau of Public Transportation, who will address the changing workplace practices on the future of Connecticut’s public transportation system; Chris DiPentima, President and CEO of the Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA), who will provide employer perspective on current trends; and Orlena Cowan-Bailey, Executive Director for the Connecticut Society for Human Resource Management (CT SHRM), who will address the COVID impact on human resources in the workplace from both a national and local perspective.

The webinar will be approximately fifty minutes in duration and registration is required.

CTrides, a service of the Connecticut Department of Transportation, works with employers and the public to improve commuting to work while helping to reduce traffic congestion and harmful emissions from unnecessary driving. Find out more about your low-cost and healthier commuting options at
