CTDOT Invites the Public to Check Out the Greater Hartford Mobility Study’s Online Collaboration Portal

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) announced today that the Greater Hartford Mobility Study (GHMS) has launched a new online collaboration portal. The portal provides an opportunity for the public to learn about the GHMS, sign up for future live online discussions with the Project Team for the week of February 22 – February 26, and leave feedback about multi-modal mobility improvements in the greater Hartford region.

With restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the CTDOT is taking an innovative approach to the GHMS public participation process by hosting an online experience. The portal will be available continuously throughout the project to allow attendees to visit at their convenience. To visit the GHMS Collaboration Portal, please click here.

The GHMS is a comprehensive study aimed at addressing mobility challenges in the greater Hartford area and it will ultimately recommend transportation solutions to facilitate economic growth, improve public safety, and expand mobility choices for all users.

The GHMS began in mid-2020, taking a holistic overview approach to improving mobility. Prior to the GHMS, several initiatives, including the I-84 Hartford Project, CTfastrak expansion, Amtrak/Hartford Line Rail Corridor enhancements, I-84 / I-91 interchange improvements, East Coast Greenway planning, and expanded bicycle and pedestrian networks,  were all at different levels of completion. Independently advancing one of the projects could potentially conflict with the others, thereby necessitating CTDOT take a broader look at these and other multi-modal mobility improvements within one overarching study – the GHMS.
