CTDOT Announces Service Disruptions for Some CTtransit Express Bus Routes Effective Saturday, September 4

CTtransit disruptions impact three Park and Ride Express Bus Routes – alternative services available.

Today, the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) announced that three CTtransit Express bus routes serving Hartford will not operate beginning Saturday, September 4. Until further notice, the routes that will not operate are the 921 Middletown-Old Saybrook Express, 923 Bristol Express, and 928 Southington-Cheshire-Waterbury Express. The service disruption on these routes results from being unable to agree with the current service provider.

“Providing accessible transportation for all people to and from our Connecticut communities is our number one priority,” said Commissioner Joseph Giulietti, CTDOT. “We are very disappointed that we are not able to provide the CTtransit Express bus routes that serve Hartford at this time. We value our customers and are hopeful the alternative CTtransit Express and local routes will meet their needs.”

Impacted customers seeking assistance planning their commute should contact CTrides at 1-877-CTrides (1-877-287-4337). For customers with access to a car, alternative CTtransit Express and local routes that can substitute for a portion of the disrupted routes are recommended for Hartford commuters:
