New Haven-Hartford-Springfield (NHHS) Rail Program

Construction Update: Town of Windsor – Railroad Crossing Activity and Roadway Paving (Daytime/Overnight Hours)

March 12-27, 2018

The following railroad crossings in Windsor will be closed to through traffic to accommodate railroad crossing activity, including new drainage, curbing, sidewalks and signage, as well as roadway paving:

East Barber Road Railroad Crossing:  Beginning on Monday, March 12th at 6:00 p.m. and continuing through Tuesday, March 13th until 6:00 p.m.

Island Road Railroad Crossing: Beginning on Monday, March 19th at 6:00 p.m. and continuing through Tuesday, March 20th at 6:00 p.m.

Central Street Railroad Crossing: Beginning on Monday, March 26th at 6:00 p.m. and continuing through Tuesday, March 27th at 6:00 p.m.

There will be construction noise throughout this period and temporary lighting to support overnight work in the area.

Traffic personnel will be in place throughout the duration of construction. Signs, variable message boards and detour routes alerting the public of the detour/closure will be posted on-site.

This work is part of the overall upgrade of the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield rail line – now branded as the CTrail Hartford Line – scheduled to begin expanded service in May 2018.
