THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION URGES RESIDENTS TO AVOID I-91 SOUTH DURING RUSH HOUR

HARTFORD, CT – The Department of Transportation urges residents to take alternative routes home this afternoon and evening, following a tractor trailer rollover just before Exit 27 on I-91 South.  In addition to the overturned transport, lumber stored within the vehicle has spilled onto the roadway. The Department of Transportation and the State Police are working as quickly as possible to clear the road for safe travel. However, significant delays are expected to continue into the evening rush hour. The DOT urges residents to take alternative roads home and avoid I-91 South – north of exit 27 – for the next several hours.
