Connecticut Department of Transportation to Hold Public Hearing on Bus Route Changes
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CT DOT) will hold a public hearing in New Britain to gather public comment on changes to bus routes. The changes include an expansion of local and express bus service in the greater Hartford, New Britain, and Bristol service areas and addition of Express bus service between Hartford and Waterbury.
The public hearing will take place on Monday, January 26, 2015, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM  at the CCSU Institute for Technology & Business Development, 185 Main Street, New Britain.
It is the policy of the CT DOT that when major service changes occur, a public hearing is held to advise the public of the upcoming changes and to gather comments about the impacts of those changes on customers.
Under the brand names CTtransit, CTtransit Express and CTfastrak, the CT DOT will be adding new routes, expanding days and hours of service, making adjustments to routes, and eliminating some bus routes which will be replaced with new services.
Comments on the proposed bus route changes may be submitted by regular mail delivered or mailed by February 9, 2015 to: State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Public Transportation, 2800 Berlin Turnpike, P.O. Box 317546, Newington, CT  06131-7546. The caption “COMMENT ON INTENT TO CHANGE BUS ROUTES” must appear on the envelope.
These hearings are accessible to persons with disabilities. Hearing impaired individuals, or persons speaking a language other than English wishing to attend any of these hearings and requiring an interpreter may make arrangements by contacting the Department of Transportation’s Office of Communications at (860) 594-3062 (VOICE ONLY), at least five working days prior to the hearing.
