Connecticut Department of Transportation Announces CTfastrak Open House Events

- Events Will Feature New CTfastrak "Flyover" Animation Video -

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today the next series of open house meetings to inform and update the public about Connecticut's first bus rapid transit system which is scheduled to begin operations in early 2015.  A new CTfastrak "flyover" animation video will be presented at the open house events and the new CTfastrak branded bus will be available for viewing.

During the planning stage, CTfastrak was known as the New Britain-Hartford Busway. The project includes ten stations in New Britain, Newington, West Hartford and Hartford with buses running every three to seven minutes during peak commuting hours.  Traveling on a bus-only road, CTfastrak offers improved travel times for bus riders, providing service from Bristol, Waterbury, Southington, and Cheshire to destinations in the CTfastrak corridor.  The public is invited to come and learn more about this exciting new project.  No RSVP is required and admission is free to all events.
