Parking permits Available for West Haven Rail Station
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that the process to purchase parking permits for the New Haven Line’s West Haven Rail Station will start the week of July 15, 2013. The West Haven Station parking lot will accommodate 658 vehicles.

Parking permits for West Haven Station will be valid from September 1, 2013, through February 28, 2014, and cost $300 for the six-month period. All parking permits are set to expire on the same date and can be renewed on a fixed semi-annual date. The cost of permits sold after September 1st, as well as after future renewal dates, will be prorated. For passengers without a permit, the parking rate is $6 per day.

“The opening of West Haven Station is an exciting opportunity for us to help alleviate traffic congestion along the busy Interstate 95 corridor,” stated CTDOT Commissioner James Redeker. “This long anticipated station will serve the needs of residents and businesses in the community of West Haven.”

Commuters who are interested in information regarding parking at West Haven Station should contact CTrides (contact info below). CTrides staff will provide information about rail parking options and pricing and send the application for a parking permit to commuters.

Opening day for West Haven Station is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, August 18, 2013. Details of both the opening and a ribbon cutting ceremony will be announced at a future date.  Rail commuters will be allowed to use the West Haven Station parking lot for free until September 1.
