Public Workshop Concerning the Merritt Parkway Multi-use Trail Feasibility Study to be Held on
Thursday, March 22, 2012, in Stamford
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a Public Workshop concerning the Merritt Parkway Multi-use Trail feasibility study on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Stamford Government Center, Senior Center Auditorium (2nd Floor), 888 Washington Blvd. Stamford, Connecticut.  The workshop will begin at 5:30 p.m.
The study will consider a trail that would span the entire 37.5 miles of the Merritt Parkway, stretching from the New York State border in the Town of Greenwich to the Sikorsky Bridge and Housatonic River in the Town of Stratford.  The trail would primarily be located within the undeveloped highway right-of-way, utilizing the wooded buffer that exists between the roadway and abutting properties.
The workshop is being held to afford a full opportunity for public participation and to allow open discussion of any views and comments the community may have concerning this feasibility study.
Deaf and hearing impaired persons wishing to attend this meeting and requiring an interpreter, must make arrangements by contacting the Department’s Office of Communications at (860) 594-3062 (voice only) at least five working days prior to the meeting.
Department personnel will be available during the meeting to discuss this study.  More detailed information is available at www.ct.gov/DOT/MerrittTrailStudy. Anyone wishing to discuss the project may contact Mr. William Britnell at (860) 594-3274 or by e-mail at William.britnell@ct.gov.
