Weekend Closure of Commuter Parking Lot Located at Exit 46 at Jefferson Street in Fairfield
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the Park and Ride parking lot located on Jefferson Street (Route 15 Exit 46) in Fairfield will be closed to commuters on weekends during the months of April, May, June & July.  This closure is necessary to accommodate the establishment of a construction management site and separate motorcycle safety training program.
Starting in April, a Department construction project designed to rehabilitate several highway bridges in the area is scheduled to begin.  A field office and construction equipment will be located in the commuter lot to coordinate and support the required work.  The rehabilitation project will require approximately 36 months to complete.
Weekend parking in the facility will resume August 7, 2010.  In the meantime, commuters are advised that alternate commuter parking is located nearby at the Park and Ride facility located on Black Rock Turnpike (Exit 44).
Requests for additional information or questions may be directed to Mr. David Balzer, CTDOT Park & Ride Program Manager, via email at david.balzer@ct.gov or phone at (860) 594-2141.  You may also access the Department’s Traveler Information Map online by going to www.ct.gov/dot and clicking on “CT Travel Info Map” on the Home Page.
