STATE SURVEYS PASSENGERS ON

SHORE LINE EAST

The Department of Transportation Distributes

Customer Survey Yesterday On

All Morning Shore Line East Trains

The Connecticut Department of Transportation conducted a customer survey on all morning train service yesterday aboard Shore Line East commuter rail service.  An on-board passenger survey was distributed to 900 customers from Old Saybrook to New Haven this morning to gather opinion and input on travel patterns.

The survey seeks input on the passengers’ positive experiences while riding Shore Line East.  The survey is also looking to determine riding patterns and identify service enhancements that are important to customers.  The Department conducts these surveys to gather feedback that will help maintain and improve the quality of service provided.

“We understand the need to gather input from our passengers as part of the state’s overall effort to improve rail service.  Yesterday, every passenger had an opportunity to provide important input to assist with the continued rail service improvements on Shore Line East,” said Eugene Colonese, Rail Administrator.  “This survey will gather current commuting patterns as well as new information on our passengers’ needs. As ridership continues to increase on this rail line, it is our hope to provide the necessary rail service to meet our growing customers’ needs.”

Shore Line East provides access between Old Saybrook and New Haven, Monday through Friday with express service to and from Bridgeport and Stamford.  Connections to New Haven Line and Amtrak service are available at New Haven’s Union Station.
