Reconstruction of the Gulf Street Bridge

The Commissioner for the Department of Transportation has announced that the Gulf Street bridge over Gulf Pond in the City of Milford will be closed to through traffic for a period of (7) seven days to allow for reconstruction of the approach roadways.

Roadway reconstruction is scheduled to commence, weather permitting, on Tuesday October 25, 2005.  At this time, traffic will be detoured so the Contractor can construct the new roadway that will connect to the newly constructed Gulf St. Bridge.

Road Construction will affect traffic “between” Tuesday October 25, 2005 at 7:00 AM through Monday October 31, 2005 3:30 PM. At this time, no traffic will be allowed to travel over the Gulf St. Bridge.  All traffic will have to follow the posted detour signs.  Traffic traveling North on Gulf St. would be detoured onto Old Field Lane to Buckingham Ave. to New Haven Ave.  Traffic traveling South on Gulf St. would be detoured onto New Haven Ave. to Buckingham Ave to Old Filed lane and back onto Gulf St.  Please drive carefully through the work zone, speed limit of 25 MPH will be strictly enforced.
