The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that I-384 eastbound Exit 3 off-ramp, I-84 eastbound Exit 63 off-ramp in Manchester and I-84 westbound Exit 58 off-ramp in East Hartford will be closed to traffic beginning on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 for wrong way detection installations. The reason for the ramp closure is to complete to installation of the wrong way system and to operationally test the system to verify it is functioning properly.
Project 170-3608 involves the installation of wrong way detection systems to reduce wrong way crashes on high-risk freeway exit ramps.
CTDOT Project No. 170-3608 was awarded to Ferguson Electric Co., Inc. at a cost of $1,827,462.00 on October 12, 2022 and is scheduled to be completed August 4, 2024. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 3 in New Haven.

DETOUR INFO
I-384 Eastbound Exit 3 Off-Ramp in Manchester
Traffic will be detoured eastbound to Exit 4, then routed back onto I-384 westbound to Exit 3 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
I-84 Eastbound Exit 63 Off-Ramp in Manchester
Traffic will be detoured eastbound to Exit 64, then be routed back onto I-84 westbound to Exit 63 from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
I-84 Westbound Exit 58 Off-Ramp in East Hartford
Traffic will be detoured westbound to Exit 56, then follow detour signs back to Roberts Street, Exit 63 from 1:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m.
