Pedestrian Facility Upgrades at Existing Traffic Control Signals in Branford, Bridgeport, Darien, East Haven, Fairfield, Guilford, Madison, Milford, Monroe, New Canaan, New Haven, North Haven, Orange, Shelton, West Haven, Weston, Westport, and Woodbridge

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a project involving upgrades to pedestrian facilities at existing traffic control signals will be starting in Branford, Bridgeport, Darien, East Haven, Fairfield, Guilford, Madison, Milford, Monroe, New Canaan, New Haven, North Haven, Orange, Shelton, West Haven, Weston, Westport, and Woodbridge. This project will replace side street green pedestrian phasing and facilities with concurrent pedestrian phasing and facilities including new pedestals, accessible pedestrian signal (APS) pushbuttons, countdown pedestrian indications, “turning vehicles yield to pedestrian” sheet aluminum signs, and leading pedestrian intervals (LPIs) where feasible.

CTDOT Project No. 0173-0521 was awarded to A.M. Rizzo Electrical Contractors, Inc. at a cost of $1,362,066.75 on 09/06/2023 and is scheduled to be completed on 10/13/2024. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 3 in Branford, Bridgeport, Darien, East Haven, Fairfield, Guilford, Madison, Milford, Monroe, New Canaan, New Haven, North Haven, Orange, Shelton, West Haven, Weston, Westport, and Woodbridge.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

There will be closures that will vary depending on each site. No lane closures will occur Monday through Friday between 6:00 am and 9:00 am & 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Saturday and Sunday between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm.
