The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing nighttime bridge repairs beginning Thursday, June 7 through Friday, June 14, 2024, on Route 8 southbound at Exit 26 in Naugatuck. The project consists of repairs to Bridge 00591 in Naugatuck at Exit 26 southbound. This off-ramp will be reopened each morning at 5:30 a.m.

Motorists can expect limited access in Naugatuck on Route 8 southbound at Exit 26 off-ramp to Route 63. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone with a detour to Exit 25, left onto Cross Street and a left back onto Route 8 northbound to Exit 26. The night work scheduled for this project is 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Monday – Friday, weather permitting.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
